Monday Marketing Moment: Give Yourself Grace!

This week’s Monday Marketing Moment is going to be video free. My husband is still in the hospital. Thankfully, he is slowly improving but he still has issues we are trying to get answers about.

Needless to say, it has thrown my schedule off so I didn’t get any time to do a video. And guess what? that’s okay! There are times in business when we need to do what we can do, right?

And that’s the focus of today’s Monday marketing moment: Give yourself grace!

As you  may have already experienced in your business, there will be times when things fall by the wayside or your best plans will go awry. No one and nothing is perfect, and it is in those times when you need to take a deep breath, go into survival mode, and trust that it will all work out!

(If you missed my previous Monday Marketing Moments, you can watch them here:

P.S. When you are ready, here are four ways I can support you in your business:

1.  Snag a copy of the free report, “5 Ways an Online Business Manager can Impact Your Business and Increase Your Profits.“

2. “Like” my Facebook page.

It is the place to be to get free weekly training, support, and encouragement in growing and automating your business.

3. Sign up for a Business Audit Mini-VIP Session.

During this session, you will discover the gaps and holes in your business processes, where in  your business you can delegate and automate, and get a strategy to help you make more money, take better care of your clients, and create a better work/life balance.

4. Work with me and my team privately.

I have several packages and programs to help you run a successful, profitable, and enjoyable business. I can help you see the big picture of your business and then create a strategy to move your business forward. Then, I can help you implement that strategy. Do You Struggle with Social Media? (And My New Plan)

I do. So, if you do struggle with social media, you are not alone.

I know that a social media strategy is essential in growing a business nowadays; however, truth be told, it is the first thing I let go when life gets busy. I can’t help it. Social media just isn’t high on my priority list. But, it should be.

Part of the problem is that it is time-sucking trigger for me. Inevitably, when I get on a social media platform such as Facebook, I always spend more time browsing and “liking” posts rather than focusing on what I intended to on that site in the first place. Even if I set a timer, I just shut the timer offer and keep doing what I am doing! This happens on Facebook quite frequently. There are some business groups I belong to but I get distracted and don’t even make it to the groups before I have to log out. {sigh}

On top of that, I get overwhelmed with all the social networking possibilities. There is Facebook, Twitter, Intstagram, YouTube, Periscope, Pinterest, SnapChat, LinkedIn and so many more. It is exhausting! It is also not realistically possible to keep up with them all so instead I just avoid them all. Not a very good strategy, for sure.

My New Strategy

So, I have decided to change all that. I am going to conquer social media and I am going to do it by focusing my energy on just one platform. Once I have given the one platform a good try, I will add another social networking site to the mix. Then after about a month, I will start experimenting with different platforms and see which one works for me and the people I am looking to connect with. In all cases, I will be active on no more than two sites at a time.

So, which platform have I chosen to start with? LinkedIn

I have chosen LinkedIn because it is all about business and making business connections; therefore, I figured it would be a good place to start. Besides, from what I can tell, my target market it there (for the most part). Additionally, I was inspired by this post on Problogger to get more active on LinkedIn.

The Plan:

For the next 4 weeks I am going to spend at least 15 minutes a day on LinkedIn. My priority will be to make connections so I am going to send at least one invitation to connect a day. I am also going to join one or two groups a week and be active in them. And, to help me stay accountable, I am going to blog about my experience at the end of the 4 weeks (September 20).

That should be enough time to be able to decide if LinkedIn is working for me or not and whether or not I will continue being active on that platform.

What about you? Do you struggle with your social media strategy? Do you have a social media strategy? What platform works best (least) with you? Do share in the comments!

P.S. If you are on LinkedIn, I would love to connect with you! So, feel free to send me an invite.

Awesome Authors: Nick Vujicic

Have you ever heard of Nick Vujicic? If not, you should get to know him asap. He is an amazing inspiration to me, and to many others.

Love Without Limits

You see, Nick was born without arms or legs but he has not let that stop him in any way. I first heard about him when I came upon one of his videos on YouTube. Then I had the honor of reading/reviewing his book Love Without Limits. It is a beautiful book and I encourage you to get your hands on a copy. You will  not regret it.

I think one of the reasons his story resonates with me is because I have mild cerebral palsy. It is mild enough that most people can’t tell I have it, aside from my limp and unbalanced gait. Still, I have had to deal with all sorts of challenges as a result of the CP, even if it is nowhere near as severe as many others. Over the years, I have come to accept, and even appreciate, my disability, but it took some time. And when I heard about his story, I was reminded that there is no challenge, big or small, that can’t be faced with courage and determination – even conquered.

Thus, Nick Vujicic is one of my favorite authors because he challenges me to be more than I think I can be, he encourages me to live with joy and “without limits” , and he inspires me by his faith and determination.
