Awesome Authors: Greg Gutfeld

Not Cool by Greg Gutfeld*This is part of the Write 31 Days writing challenge.

I heard about Greg Gutfeld through my in-laws. They have seen him on the show The Five where he is one of the co-hosts. Then I had the opportunity to read and review his book Not Cool. The book blew me away – and I LOVE his list of “free radicals” toward the end book. He has a no-nonsense way of writing that I love and he is not afraid to say (or in this case write) what he believes.

The best part of Greg’s book and website is that he makes you think. Better yet, he gets you to think for yourself. There are a lot of educators or influencers today who tell people what to think and Gutfeld’s writings fights against them in his own subtle (and sometimes not-so-subtle) way. Thus, even if you don’t agree with the views he expresses in his books and articles, you still go away challenged and  fired-up. At least, I did when I read Not Cool.

That is why I had to include him in my list of awesome authors and bloggers. No matter what your political bent, or no bent at all, I encourage you to read Not Cool and/or any of Greg Gutfeld’s writings. He is one author worth getting to know.

Awesome Bloggers: Amy Lynn Andrews

*This post is part of the Write 31 Days challenge. (This post contains affiliate links. Please see my disclosure policy.)

You can’t talk about awesome bloggers without mentioning Amy Lynn Andrews. She is absolutely one of my favorite Tell Your Time by Amy Lynn Andrewsbloggers, although she doesn’t blog much anymore. Instead, she has a “useletter” that goes out weekly that is loaded with blogging and other tips. I never fail to bookmark at least something from the “useletter.”

Her main focus is to help others start a blog, and she helped me so much in my own blogging endeavors. I was constantly scouring her websites for tutorials when I was revamping my personal blog a few years ago and I even went back to her website for refresher when I decided to revamp and revive this website. I love that her writing is geared toward the average person. She is clear, to the point, and offers very specific, usable advice.

She has also written a book, Tell Your Time, that I purchased a while back. It is short, practical, and it changed the way I look at time management. The biggest takeaway, for me, is the concept of leaving margins. It is the perfect book for busy people looking to take control of their time instead of allowing time to control them.

By the way, Amy Lynn Andrews’ blog isn’t just for newbies. Even if you are a seasoned blogger/writer, I am positive you can glean some useful and helpful tips too. 🙂
