I am getting a little tired (a.k.a. burnt out) with doing full-length book reviews. Don’t get me wrong, I still love to read and I still love to encourage others to read. However, I have been doing book reviews for a (between my personal blog and this one) while and need a change. Therefore, starting this month, I will do monthly recaps of the books I have read (or are reading) with snippet reviews.
Ironically, I didn’t read all that much in May. I man finishing up the home school year with my son and busy with other things that I didn’t really have the chance to do a lot of reading. But, I did read three:
NEXT: How to Start a Successful Business That’s Right for You and Your Family. The book didn’t add much insight into starting a business per se but it did offer a lot of inspiration and encouragement. My favorite part of the book is when she shares her struggles and journey that helped her discover her business of choice.
Fasting: Intermittent Fasting for Beginners (The book doesn’t seem to be available any more). I am not actually a beginner with intermittent fasting as I followed this method for a while a couple of years ago. It really helped me lose weight but for various reasons I stopped. I have decided to do intermittent fasting again and remembered I had this books sitting in my Kindle so I decided to give it a read. The book was okay but I was disappointed that it didn’t mention the fasting method I used in the past (fast-5).
The Fast-5 Diet and the Fast-5 Lifestyle. This is the book I first read about intermittent fasting. I had a copy from a few years ago that was offered free on Dr. Herring’s website. I re-read the book and inspired once again to give this method a try. It definitely works: I’ve lost 5 lbs so far. 🙂
Hopefully, next month will be better for me, reading wise. I have several books that I want to read so I just need to carve out the time. What have you read lately? Do share!
