Book Review of Green Smoothies

My Comments

When my husband and I were married 12 years ago, we were gifted with a juicer. For a while, I used it all the time but then over the years I would use it in spurts. Well, I began my latest spurt toward the end of September 2015. I found some recipes that I wanted to try so I broke out the juicer and blender. I’ve been using it regularly ever since. Thus, when I had the opportunity to review Green Smoothies I jumped at the chance.

Now, it has taken me some time to work through the book because 66 recipes are a LOT of recipes! As of now, I have tried about 90% of the recipes, minus the 7 day green juice detox plan and a few others.

One of the things I like is that the book contains a variety of juices, “shots” and nut milks. Some are more time-consuming than others (such as the nut milks) and some recipes have more ingredients than others. All of the recipes, however, are unique and good. I was so surprised with some of the combinations of ingredients and was hesitant to try them but then I was pleasantly surprised about how good they were.

For example, there is a recipe for “Banana Tonic.” There are only three ingredients in this smoothie but I thought they were odd and didn’t really go well together. Still, I gave it a try, and it was actually very good!

If you are looking to be healthier this year or to add more vegetables into your diet, I absolutely recommend you check out Green Smoothies. I give this book four (4) stars.
